On Thursday, April 7, our own head of school, Dr. Michael Kay delivered the keynote address to the Jewish community of St. Louis at its community-wide event, "Same Difference: Understanding Jewish Diversity." Dr. Kay's speech, entitled, "The Promise of Pluralism," was a featured part of the program. Sponsored by the Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School, the event was organized around the topic of the importance of building community among Jews who represent diverse approaches to belief and practice. Participants attended panels and breakout sessions led by 12 community rabbis.

These words by Rabbi Yishmael, which reflect the essence of our mission, are found in Pirkei Avot. They advise us to lead lives filled with learning, teaching, preservation of our heritage, and social action.
